Education Offered
The University of Tromsø offers three-year Bachelor programmes, five-year integrated Master’s programmes, traditional six-year profession studies, one-year courses, as well as Master’s programmes of up to two years duration that build on completed education at lower levels.
A study programme is a determined study course that comprises different courses. Each course is an independent study unit that is evaluated with an examination. Each course is normally worth 10 or 20 credits (ECTS). An academic year is regulated to 60 credits.
The right-hand margin contains an overview of study programmes together with links to an overview of courses, course descriptions and course starting dates.
If you are unsure which course (or courses) you will begin in the Autumn semester, you can find out by looking at the study plan on the study programme you have taken. You then enter the course register to find further information on the course (or courses) you will take.
For students who do not wish to study to complete a degree, or for other reasons do not have the possibility of following a study programme, it is possible to apply for admission to one or more singular courses. (NB: Be aware that you need to apply for a new admission if you want to study other singular courses later.)
As a student on a singular course, you also have the option of applying for transfer to a study programme.
