ISU Student Board Spring 2005

ISU General Assembly

The ISU GA was held on Tuesday 8 February 2005.

Past ISU activities
We have had 3 ISU Board meetings to date where the ISU activities were discussed updated and revised.
On 22 January we had a Bodega party to welcome everyone back to the academic year.
25 January we held a Hugin’s Report in the old Bodega. It was well attended and the interest for this event is growing. Plea note that all are welcome to attend to participate. It is not only English. Participants are encouraged to use their own language with just a brief explanation in English.
12 February we had a Valentine party which was well attended.

Together with other student organisations we participated in the Solidarity Café and the Latin American week. Our main objective this semester is to work closer and collaborate with the other student organisations on mutual events and activities.

Upcoming events
Easter Trip to Kautokeino (21 to 25 March) - Organisation of this trip is in progress. Responsible is Priscilla and Gabriela.
Trip to Lofoten islands (29, 30 April, 1 May) – Organisation is in progress. Responsible is Melike and Julia.
New Moon Gathering (10 March) – Presentation of Russia by Russian students. Responsible is Evjenia. The object of these gatherings is to demystify negative perceptions students may have about other countries. Various countries or cultures will make presentations during the following months. Check our website for updates.
Social gatherings at Driv – We intend playing the game “Amigos” to encourage and provide a platform for Norwegians and international students to interact positively. Responsible is Shirani.
Sunday Sport – This has been a bit disrupted but we will take place on Sunday 27 Feb. We have applied and got a place at the Saturday tournament in indoors football in Tromsø. We have an ISU football team so we’ll take part on Sat 26 Feb at Kraft. Responsible is Abdul.

Debut-Uke
ISU intends submitting the following 3 activities for this event:
19 April-Hugin's Report-19h00 to 21h00-Driv (Been in touch with Per-Arne)
24 April-International Cuisine- venue and time to be confirmed
28 April-Full Moon Gathering- venue and time to be confirmed.

ISU Constitution Revision
The revision of the ISU Constitution is an ongoing thing this spring. Several people appointed at the February GA are responsible for that, but it does not exclude or diminish any of the possibilities of the other students to join the work. Those interested are invited to the meetings held every Tuesday at the ISU office 16-18, or they can send an e-mail, get the constitution via it and send their propositions in the same way. All the amendments will be sent out to students before the Easter break in order for them to read it and come to the General Assembly which will be held after the Easter holidays. It is expected that a new revised ISU Constitution will be accepted.

Finance
Firstly, our office was robbed and our cash box and 1 750 was stolen.
Our current bank balance is 13 092.
We are expecting the annual transfer from NSU 50 000
