Do you want to get to know our biggest neighbour in the east? Russia is our biggest and most unknown neighbouring country. The programme combines language studies with knowledge on Russian history, social life and politics.
As the University of Tromsø is (literally) the starting point, it’s natural that the northern Russian areas and Norwegian-Russian relations is central to the study.
It is arranged so that it is possible to attend studies at the Norwegian study centre in St.Petersburg. The course focuses on practical skills in spoken Russian and provides teaching that gives knowledge on Russian language, culture, art and society. Alternatively, it’s also possible to study at the study centre in Arkhangelsk.
The programme qualifies for master degree studies in Russian or history, depending on the chosen specialisation.
