The bachelor’s programme in Philosophy is a profound study of the most fundamental questions about the human being, society and nature – what is knowledge, how can we make out what is true and what is false, what is right and what is wrong?
What is a good society and how should we live? Philosophy is searching for knowledge that can contribute to clarity and coherence in one’s individual life, but also gives a foundation for a critical and reflected approach to most studies through its focus on the foundational problems of research.
The study consists of one obligatory component and one optional, where one freely chooses an area of specialization in philosophy. Minor subjects from other disciplines are also included in the study. These are optional, one is electing based on academic interests or expected job possibilities. The study of philosophy gives opportunities for teaching and research within own field, job possibilities in cultural and social life, as media, news, publishing houses, state and communal administration.
