26.09. - 31.12. The Bayeux tapestry
The famous tapestry of Bayeux is like a comic from the medieval time.
It tells how William, Duke of Normandy, conquered England in AD 1066.
The embroidered tapestry is rich in detail, showing e.g. boats, clothing, armour and weapons from the 11th Century. This fall a photograpic replica of the Bayeux tapestry goes on display at Tromsø Museum.
