Collections
Is in charge of the collections of marine invertebrates, molluscs, and vertebrates at Tromsø Museum. They consist of ca 40 000 samples of invertebrates, most conserved in alcohol, and about 8000 samples of Vertebrates (i.a. 4500 birds and bird eggs, and 2000 fishes), mainly from northern Norway and the adjacent seas, and from Arctic regions. Of special interest are the collections of Bivalvia, brought together by former curator Tron Soot-Ryen, and the amphipod collections, in part stemming from our first curator Jakob Sparre Schneider.

bile2
Tromsø Museum is giving priority to computerizing the collection data bases, but until now only the Vertebrata, Amphipoda, Echinodermata and Bryozoa have been finished.

Exhibitions
Have a look at the exhibitions at the museum of Tromsø.

Teaching
Has since 1976 taught the annual course Systematics/Evolution at the University in Tromsø, and has written a compendium (in Norwegian).
