Sami culture

The exhibition "Sami culture" deals with various aspects of the cultural history of the Sami people. Starting with the old Sami hunting community, the exhibit presents the transition to the nomadic way of life through dioramas, artefacts, pictures and maps. Special emphasize is placed on the culture patterns related to the keeping of reindeer. Sami arts and crafts (duodji), types of dwellings, mythology and Sami joiks are also included.
