From fieldwork experience to ethnographic film and text |

Work
Educated social worker (1985), and anthropologist (2000).
She has worked several years as a social worker with youngsters'; situations and with international students. Her topics within social anthropology were on international student mobility, on aspects of knowledge acquisition & transmission in different social situations and by different forms of mediations. She is preparing a PhD project on processes of transforming social memories and abandoned social practises in the fields of cultural politics in rural areas under great pressure of urbanisation and modernisation processes in Helgeland (Norway).
She has worked as a part- time lecturer at the A- course for 2 years, course in general anthropology, methodology course and film & text.
Projects
She has initiated and co-ordinated the partnership agreements within the new "Fredskorps" on a collaborative programme for exchange of personnel between the University of Tromsø, the University of Ngaoundéré, Cameroon and the University of Bamako, Mali. Within this program they organized an at the University of Ngaoundéré.
Bente has also developed an interactive tool for reading ethnographic monographs
In 2005 and 2006 she is the project manager of a project, financed by Norgesuniversitetet and aims to develop web-based teaching modules within the field of visual anthropology, ethnographic methods and cultural representation.
