Programme objectives

The goal of the programme will be through cross-disciplinary co-operation
  • to provide a general theoretical framework based on stochastic population modelling to improve the understanding of general principles underlying the dynamics of natural populations. This theoretical foundation will be used in a set of carefully selected model systems covering a broad range of taxa
  • to provide some general guidelines and tools that can be used for the management and conservation of species in the face of global change.

Organisation and major problems

The program is organized into 4 research fields, each with a specific major question. Information about these are available from the menu to the left.
