PublicationsThe Centre's paramount objective is to promote basic and interdisciplinary research of the highest international calibre. Considerable attention is also devoted to communicating the research performed at the Centre to other researchers as well as to society at large. The Centre has adopted a multi-channel information strategy based on scientific publications, seminars, newsletters, annual reports, the Internet and the annual publication of its series entitled Interdisciplinary Communications . The Centre's researchers are also frequently called upon to serve as sources for external news media.
The CAS Newsletter is published twice a year in Norwegian and English editions. The newsletter provides information about the Centre's activities and is intended to promote closer contact among research communities. The newsletter is distributed to the academic staff of Norwegian universities and colleges and to a series of research institutions in Norway and abroad, as well as to Norwegian newspapers and the broadcast media. The newsletters are also available (in pdf format) on the Centre's website.
CAS publishes an Annual Report each spring. A Norwegian version is available on the Centre's website. An English version of the Annual Report is also available in a printed edition. It includes the final reports of the Centre's research groups from the previous year. In 2004, CAS launched a book series entitled Interdisciplinary Communications. The idea is to encourage communication among researchers from different research communities and across disciplinary boundaries. The articles are contributed by the fellows at the Centre, and the books are intended to illustrate how multi- and interdisciplinary interaction can provide new impetus and momentum to a creative basic research environment.
The anniversary booklet CAS Oslo 1992-2002: Advanced Study in a Norwegian Context was published to commemorate the Centre's 10th anniversary in September 2002. |
