Prof. Marco P. Schoen, Associate Prof. of Engineering at Idaho State University, College of Engineering will stay at CeSOS from August 1 to October 31 to carry out joint research relating to automatic control of marine systems in cooperation with Prof. Mogens Blanke.

Choudhary, Ankit Kumar, from Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) will stay at CeSOS for 2 months, from May 7 (summer internship). His contact person is Prof. Torgeir Moan.

Professor Mikhail Dimentberg, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA, USA will stay at the Centre from May 8 until June 17. His contact person at CeSOS is Prof. Arvid Næss.

Visiting Professor Ronald W. Yeung, from Dept. of Mechanical Engineering- Fluids and Oceans, University of California at Berkeley will visit our centre from April 23- May 6, to carry out research related to high-speed vessels.

Visiting Professor Ioannis K. Chatjigeorgiou , from Dept. of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, National Technical University of Athens will arrive 20th September 2006 for a 2 months stay at CeSOS.

Visiting Professor Toichi Fukasawa , from Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Japan, will stay at CeSOS in the period 13th August- 13th September 2006.

Visiting Professor Hiroshi Kawabe , from the Department of Marine Design and Engineering, School of Marine Science and Technology, Tokai University, Japan, will stay at CeSOS in the period 04th August- 16th September 2006.

PhD student Wei Dai , from Harbin Engineering University in China, College of Shipbuilding Engineering, arrives at CeSOS July 12th for a period of 1 year. He will carry out research on reliability based design and inspection planning of risers subjected to vortex induced vibrations. His contact person at CeSOS is Torgeir Moan.

Professor Kaj Antero Riska, from ILS Consulting Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, Finland, has been employed at CeSOS as Professor II (Adjunct Professor) for a period of 5 years starting 1st June 2006.

Professor J.-J.E. Slotine, from MIT (CeSOS collaborating partner), will stay at CeSOS in the period 12th-16th June 2006.

Associate Professor Hidemi Mutsuda, Dept. of Social and Environmental Engineering, Hiroshima University, Japan, will stay at CeSOS 9 months starting 1st June 2006. He will do research within the design of new computational algorithms for a variety of applications including computational fluid dynamics and solid mechanics.

Senior Scientist Yuriy A. Semenov, from Inst. of Hydrodynamics of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine, is going to stay at CeSOS from 24th May 2006. He will be a visiting researcher at CeSOS for 1 year. The topic of research will be on ventilation of hydrofoils.

PhD student Alex Alcocer from Institute for Systems and Robotics, Instituto Superior Técnino, Lisbon will stay at CeSOS 3 months from April 10, 2006.

Visiting scholar Xiaoping Huang, Phd from Harbin Engineering University, China, will stay at CeSOS for 6 months from 27. September 2005.

Professor Hiroshi Kawabe, Dept. of Marine Design and Engineering, School of Marine Science and Technology, Tokai University, Japan will stay at CeSOS in the period of July 30th - 30th September 2005 to carry out joint research of wave-induced response in ships. The emphasis will be on probabilistic methods to determine extreme responses for ultimate strength design.

Visiting scholar Ms. Liangbi Li, from Jiangsu University of Science & Technology, China, will arrive CeSOS primo September. She will carry out research on finite element analysis of fatigue and fracture behaviour of marine structures. She will stay at CeSOS for 10 months.

Professor J.-J. E. Slotine from MIT (CeSOS' collaborating partner) will stay at the Centre in the periode 14 - 17. June.

Professor Mikhail Dimentberg from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA, USA and Professor Daniil Iourtchenko from College of Engineering, University of Miami are coming to visit the Centre again in May-June 2005. Welcome back.
