About CMC

section_about.jpg

As a strategic research initiative, CMC gathers together research projects and networks of researchers at the University of Oslo that study developmental processes related to information and communication technology (ICT).

The overall aim of CMC is to create arenas for the exchange of ideas and stimulating collaborations across disciplines thereby contributing to knowledge about how such processes may be supported and furthered.

CMC centres on cultural, political, judicial, economic and communicative aspects of the development and use of ICT. Our broad focus reflects the premise that technological development must be understood and studied in relation to social change.

CMC has two main tracks. These are Competence and Convergence

The Coordinator for CMC is Trond Eiliv Hauge.
