All computer science courses at bachelor level have been completed. This includes programming fundamentals, algorithms, databases, network, operating systems, architecture, software engineering and so on. In addition, mandatory courses in mathematics, statistics, and physics are also completed.

At the master level the focus has been on distributed systems.The course subjects have been advanced distributed systems, distributed algorithms, security in distributed systems, database systems, concurrent and parallel programming.

Elective courses outside science have been; Basic business administration, organizational theory, examen philosophicum, theories of development in childhood and adolescence, and psychology through phenomena.

Staale has recently finished his capstone project in computer science. The project consisted of developing a mandelbrot based tool for demonstration of parallel and distributed computations. The system was developed for the Computer Science Departments Display Wall System. The project involved parallelizing, loadbalancing, and visualization of the Mandelbrot fractal computation for the Display Wall environment. The system demonstrates issues and performance improvements from parallelization, distribution and visualization of computations. Staale is currently working on his Master thesis in Computer science (Diploma). This thesis consist of building and deveoloping software for a tiled camera for use in video conference streaming between display walls.
