| The enormous increase in computing
power required by the LHC experiments necessitates a more object oriented
approach in general, one consequence being the replacement of FORTRAN with
C++, as well as completely new ways of handling data. As part of addressing
the latter, the University of Oslo is involved in the NorduGrid project,
a Nordic testbed for wide area computing and data handling. In this connection
clusters have been set up in Oslo and Bergen. Complementary to the GRID activities effort is put into making CONDOR fully operational. This system allows the use of linux machines all over UiO. PERSONNEL
