Introduction to Norwegian Politics and Society: The course consists of lectures and seminars every week during the autumn term. There will be one lecture (2-4 hours) and one seminar (class) per week. Individual and group assignments will be given on weekly basis and oral presentations and written essays are part of the instruction methods.
Welfare State History: consists of lectures and seminars for 4-5 hours a week during the autumn term. Class participation is expected.
Norwegian for Foreigners: teaching will be conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. Students are expected to be active and we highly recommend that students set aside time for self-study and discussions with fellow students.
Examinations: Introduction to Norwegian Politics and Society: Evaluation is by a final written exam (6 hrs) in the end of January. In order to be allowed to take the exam, each student must complete one written essay in the course of the study term. The essay must be finished and evaluated by the first week in December. The examination is evaluated by 3 internal examiners and marked according to international grade scale A-F.
Norwegian for Foreigners: The exam consists of three parts: a written grammar test (2 hours), a written text/litterature test (3 hours), and an oral test. The exams will be arranged in May/June. In order to be allowed to take the exams, each student is obliged to pass a short, written test in February
Welfare State History: Students will be required to write a paper over one week at the end of the spring semester. |
