Centre for Educational Research and Development

Aim of the Centre

Work in progress

The aim of the Centre for Educational Research and Development is to contribute to the quality of teaching and learning at Oslo University College (OUC) in accordance with the overall strategy of the College. This entails:
- providing support to development projects in the various faculties of the College,
- organising academic development programmes for members of the academic staff at the College,
- carrying out research projects.

Activities

In order to achieve this aim, the Centre for Educational Research and Development is involved in three types of activities:

1. Programmes:

- Foundation Course in Education for College Lecturers, a compulsory course for members of the teaching staff at OUC,
- Career-track Track Programme for Senior Lectureship, a systematic academic development programme preparing for the promotion from lectureship to senior lectureship (equivalent to a Ph.D.). This programme is currently being extended at the regional, national and international level.

2. Partnership

The centre is involved as a partner in educational development projects in the various faculties and departments at OUC.

3. Research

The centre carries out fundamental and applied research into academic development in collaboration with other interdisciplinary institutes at OUC and with other research institutions at the national and at the international level.

The needs of OUC faculties and departments in terms of research and development play a central role both in the forming of the curriculum of the Centre's academic development programmes and the focus of the Centre's research areas.
