Student registration
Semester fee
All full time degree students pay a mandatory fee at the beginning of each semester. The semester fee is on NOK 700. Final dates for payment: 10 September in the autumn semester; 25 January in the spring semester. You must pay the semester fee to be able follow the lectures, sit for exams. and to collect your loan (if you are entitled to a loan by Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund ( NSELF )
New students will receive an invoice with a PIN-code and a “kid-number” by mail. You pay the invoice in the bank, and after 2-3 days you can register for the semester on StudentWeb (see below, Semester registration).
For the next semesters, you will find the invoice on StudentWeb and you can pay it using the internet service of your bank (net-bank). You will get the semester card by mail approx. 7 days after you have paid the semester fee.
Computer access
When you register yourself as a student, you also become a user of the OUC network. You need to register a password at http://www.hio.no/studpassord.html .
The password will give you access to the OUC network, student email and Fronter.
Semester registration
Semester registration has to be done each semester. All students have to register on StudentWeb after having paid the semester fee. To enter StudentWeb, you need the 4-digit PIN-code which you have received together with the invoice for the semester fee, and your Norwegian 11-digit ID-number.
Take good care of the PIN-code, as you will need it for other purposes as well, like entering buildings, checking the results of your exams, etc.
If you need help with the registration, you can go to our Information centre at 1 st floor.
Student card
You pick up your student ID-card during studystart. The card is an ID-card, access-card at OUC and library-card all in one.
Remember to keep the semester card together with your student ID-card. Only then the student card is valid and gives you right to discounts on public transportation in Norway, as well as reduced fees to museums, etc.
