About projects

Projects in EPS should be multidisciplinary. Two engineering disciplines will do, but in addition there may be a wish for economics, marketing, architecture or other suitable subjects. The projects need not be clearly defined as the group of students will have to discuss this with the project issuer. It's really one of the first parts of project work, to limit and create an understanding of the problem. And considering the limited amount of time the group members are able to use on the project it is important that they can work towards a result, not just be the first group in a long line of groups to work on a long term project.

What we want from industrial partners is the following:

- Introduction (short about the business and the problem 2-3 lines)

- Project brief (point out a problem that needs to be solved)

- Further (a couple of lines indicating the framework that the group can work within)

- Project Team (4-6 international students, completed by the EPS-project coordinator)

- Time (will always be three months in this case)

- Areas of study (project issuer in cooperation with EPS-project coordinator - but mainly within these different categories): CE=Civil Engineering

  • ME=Mechanical Engineering
  • PE=Production Engineering
  • EE=Export Engineering (Business & Technology)
  • EC=Electronic and Computer Engineering
  • EP=Electric Power Engineering
  • CPE=Computer Engineering
  • Others (can be chemistry, biology, environmental, architecture etc.)

- Company

- Contact Person

- Project Academic Supervisor (decided by OUC)

An organisation or industrial business that want to participate in EPS can contact the project coordinator to discuss the extent of the project etc. But the above list should be a good start. An excample of how this can look is available here. Visit the EPS-Copenhagen website for information about previous projects.

We will accept projects in all categories, but would especially like to urge companies with environmentally oriented project proposals to take part in EPS. Environmental problems often tend to be international, and you would be surprised how different the various nationalities approach problems. The EPS concept will be just perfect for this.
