Prosjektbeskrivelse: There are not more men than women working in early childhood education. This project investigates the Norwegian positiojnings regarding attempts to get more me into the profession. To do so it deals with departmental policy documents, anecdotal information and narratives, theories of gender in relation to curriculum practices, what the children and their parents apparently want, and possibløer changes to higher education for early childhood. The project is to result in a book chapter for a USA pubpisher, with edirot åprofessor Mimi Bloch , Early Childhood Education, Madison Wisconsin. The project is to write the chapter together and get it published internationally7. The outline of the chapter has been accepted and the first full draft is awaiting its reviews. The next step if this is accepted it to complete the writing following the referees’ advice and what is now happening and being thought in Norway. The chapter is called “Repositioning Men”. Funding to buy time for the writers to write would be appreciated.
