Subversion

The HPC group at ITEA has a set of Subversion repositories to aid user groups that develops HPC codes.

The server resides at http://svn.itea.ntnu.no/.

To gain access to the various HPC Subversion repositories you need to do two things:

  • Set a password that will be used for accessing the Subversion repositories. This is done by going to https://svn.itea.ntnu.no/auth. On that page, you need to login with your regular BDB username and password. When you have logged in, you can set your subversion password to anything you like, but DO NOT use your BDB password. The Subversion client caches this password in more-or-less plaintext when you use it, so invent a password specifically for this use. If you forget it, you can allways change it on the site linked to above.
  • Get your user name added to the list of accredited users for the repository in question. This is done by sending a mail to support@notur.no - specify that the request is for the svn.itea.ntnu.no server, supply your username and the name of the repository.

  • Version Control with Subversion This book was written by members of the Subversion project. It can be viewed online in HTML form, or downloaded as a PDF. It is also available in print from O'Reilly (you can probably pick up a copy at the Tapir bookstore if you'd like a hard copy). The online version is also available in norwegian.
