Centre for Imaging is on a constant search for top candidates for PhD and Postdoc positions. We are involved in a broad range of research projects in imaging within seismic, sonar, remote sensing, ultrasound and medical imaging.
At the moment, we have the following vacancies:
PhD position in the ACIM project. Deadline: 18 June 2008
ACIM (Acoustic image formation and interpretation) combines image formation and interpretation in a cross-disciplinary approach. Two major applications are seismic data processing and sonar imaging. A full description of the project can be found here.
Applicants should have background which covers either geophysics, image analysis and pattern recognition, or acoustics. During the project you will learn one of the other fields too. Further knowledge in physics, signal processing or statistics will also be an advantage. The full announcement for the positions is available here.

PhD position in the HighRIB project. Deadline: 18 June 2008
The aim of the HighRIB project (High resolution imaging and beamforming) is to contribute to new and/or improved forms of sonars and other acoustic systems. The goal of the PhD project is investigation and exploitation of non-linear acoustics for harmonic sonar imaging. The research shall be firmly established in real world data and thus based on measurements in the laboratory and on data from field experiments. Stipendiatstillinger i avbildning
Institutt for informatikk har utlyst 11 fireårige stipendiatstillinger med søknadsfrist 11. juni. En av stillingene er direkte rettet mot Senter for avvbildning. To av de 11 stillingene er åpne stillinger uten gruppetilhørighet. Ved Senter for avbildning ønsker vi å komme i kontakt med potensielle kandidater til PhD-prosjekter med vekt på synergi mellom sonar, ultralyd, bildeanalyse og seismikk. Ønsket bakgrunn til stillingene vil være akustikk, bildeanalyse, fysikk, geofysikk, informatikk, matematikk, signalbehandling eller statistikk.
