Introduction
The Arabidopsis group, headed by Prof. Aalen, is using Arabidopsis as a tool in studies of floral abscission, epigenetics and seed development.
|
Floral abscission
Abscission is an active process that enables plants to shed unwanted organs. We are studying floral abscission using the mutant ida in which floral organs never detach from to the plant....
|
Epigenetics
SET-domain and Methyl-CpG-binding domain proteins We have identified Arabidopsis genes encoding SET-domain and MBD proteins likely involved in epigenetic control of gene expression.
|
Seed development
Gametophytic maternal effect mutants Plant female gametophytes give rise to a diploid embryo and triploid endosperm. Our capulet mutants disrupts normal endosperm development.
