Wolfpack_cluster
Wolfpack; Computational Resource for
Traffic and Dependability
Evaluation
"Wolfpack" consist of a cluster of a dozen powerful processors,
configured with suitable software tools dedicated for demanding simulations and
analysis tasks.
What is it for?
Evaluation of traffic handling
capabilities and dependability of communication networks and service providing
systems. E.g.:
- Development and execution of simulation experiments.
- Number crunching of analytical/numerical models.
- Measurements on "software systems".
- Postprocessing of measurement results.
- Result presentations and visualizations.
Other relevant
use of the cluster are of course not excluded. The cluster is dedicated for:
- Research, PhD studies included.
- MSc thesis work on special occasions.
Formalities
The cluster is operated be the
Department of Telematics O&M staff. For technical questions, contact them. How to get access:
- PhD students, faculty, etc.:
Contact O&M
- MSc students: The responsible
faculty for the thesis must contact the co-ordinator to see if there is
available capacity before access is granted. The need of the student must be
explicitly stated.
All extensive
use of the cluster must be
reported to the co-ordinator beforhand. He will see to that periods of
heavy usage in several project do not (accidentally) coincide. Reported and
granted use will have priority in a FCFS basis.
