Objectives
The course is offered in English to the students in the second year in the MSc programme “Hydropower Development” and to siv.ing students in the study programme “bygg og miljøteknikk”. The course covers planning, design and operation of headworks in sediment carrying rivers.
Contents
Extended discussion of sediment transport theory and use of water resources in sediment loaded rivers, reservoir sedimentation, headworks for run-of-river hydropower plants, sediment handling techniques, sediment sampling programmes and analysis of sediment data. |
