The main objective

Bodø Graduate School of Business is to be a centre for higher business education and research in Norway. Members of the academic staff are to participate actively in national and international research in the fields of business and finance and IT subjects provided by Bodø Graduate School of Business. Research is to be conducted at a high scientific level. Research must also be relevant for application in society and business, globally and nationally as well as regionally. Bodø Graduate School of Business is to make the necessary arrangements for educating new researchers by recruiting good master candidates to the stipend and PHD programme. Bodø Graduate School of Business is to be an attractive workplace for well-known researchers from Norway and abroad.

Research strategy objectives for Bodø Graduate School of Business during the period 2004-2007

Bodø Graduate School of Business will work actively to increase co-operation with international, national and regional institutions concerned with knowledge and competence development within the various business fields of study. Such co-operation is important both for promoting the quality of research, making research relevant and financing research effort.

Research at Bodø Graduate School of Business is to be presented in several different forums. All research is primarily to be published in international and national journals and books. In addition to international publication of scientific books and articles, research is to be made known at academic conferences in Norway and abroad, in popularised articles and in chronicles in the media, as well as in direct co-operation with trade and business. Bodø Graduate School of Business will also work for more international and national research and R&D dissemination conferences being held in Bodø.

It is an objective that research and development activity at Bodø Graduate School of Business will promote the pace of change and innovation in society. Bodø Graduate School of Business will, in active co-operation with regional and national trade and business, remain the country’s leading research institution in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. Economic management in modern society, environment and ethics in the economy and transport economics are research fields within which Bodø Graduate School of Business is and wishes to remain strong. Bodø Graduate School of Business also has a firm objective to be amongst the leaders in research concerning economic and social development in previous Eastern Europe. In addition an international economic and administrative research environment in the field of energy sources, with which Northern Norway is so richly endowed, has been established.
