About studies at NHH

Teaching International Business since 1986

In today's global business environment there are excellent opportunities for international careers. The MSc in International Business at NHH is a specialised two year course of study specifically aimed to equip students with the right mix of analytical and practical skills for a career within multinational companies, international organisations or smaller firms whose activities involve a substantial degree of international business.

NHH was the first institution in Norway to establish its own international study programme in English with the Master of International Business (MIB) programme in 1986. In 2004 MIB became the MSc in International Business. Through the teaching of International Business, NHH has acquired a twenty year tradition of welcoming and integrating students from many different countries including the USA, China, Russia, Germany and France. The programme actively aims to recruit approximately 30 students from a wide range of countries and the MSc in International Business student group is likely to include participants from some twenty countries. Candidates for the programme can therefore look forward to studying in a highly international student environment with substantial opportunities for developing the critical intercultural team skills so important in business today.

In 2005 and 2006 the Financial Times ranked NHH amongst the top 25 European Masters in Management programmes. Together with our CEMS partners, our CEMS Master's in International Management (MIM) programme was rated second overall in 2006 by the Financial Times, up from third place in 2005. This is an excellent achievement for a small school that aims to benchmark itself against the best in Europe.

Matriculation reception for MSc in International Business students

All master students at NHH are encouraged to combine their studies in Norway with participation in one of the international student exchange programmes, such as the prestigious CEMS (Community of European Management Schools) network that NHH is a member of. The MSc in International Business is no exception. This means that students will have the opportunity to study for a semester in a second European country. Indeed as an International Business student at NHH you may even combine your NHH degree with the CEMS Master's in International Management (MIM). Over 50% of NHH students choose to take at least one semester on exchange, and this is a great way to turn an MSc in International Business into a truly multi-national experience.

The objectives of the MSc in International Business at NHH are to educate students in the field of international business and to prepare them for international careers in management. The programme is designed to provide the students with a strong theoretical base through practical case studies and interactions with the business community.
