IMF – spring meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC)
The IMFC held its spring meeting on 20 April in Washington D.C. The Committee establishes the general guidelines for the International Monetary Fund’s policy. The issues discussed at the meeting included developments in the global economy, guidelines for restructuring international sovereign debt and debt relief for heavily indebted poor countries (HIPC). Iceland’s Minister of Finance represented the Nordic and Baltic countries and presented their views at the meeting. More information about the IMF is available at IMF's web site.
