Revision of import-weighted krone exchange rate index, I-44
The I-44 exchange rate index will be revised on 27 May 2002. I-44 is an import-weighted exchange rate index for Norway’s 44 most important trading partners.
I-44 will from now on be calculated as a chain-linked index according to the same principles as the trade-weighted exchange rate index. The weights will be updated on an annual basis. I-44 has so far been calculated using fixed weights based on the import pattern for the period 1995-97. The new index will be calculated with a 1995 base year equal to 100. In comparison, the old index was set at 1995, week one = 100.
