"Technology for a cleaner future" -Through the Energy and Petroleum, Resources and Environment Strategic Area, NTNU is engaged in improving knowledge about sustainable production and energy consumption.
Knowledge about new sources of renewable energy and energy carriers is particularly important. Our efforts contribute to global innovation, know-how, technology and economic solutions useful to society, thus making it possible to meet future energy demands in a sustainable way.
Statoil Prize for 2007 was awarded to Professor Martin Landrø, an applied geophysicist with the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Applied Geophysics at NTNU. The prize recognizes his work in in four-dimensional seismology, also known as 4-D seismic.
"Professor Landrø is one of the pioneers in the development and use of 4-D seismic for monitoring oil and gas production from our reservoirs," says Lasse Amundsen, chief researcher in geophysics at StatoilHydro. "For the past 10 years he has provided important theoretical and practical contributions towards enhancing this technology." [ More about the award ]
