Since the
beginning of the 1990s Norway
has been involved in a broad cooperation with its adjacent areas. This
cooperation is concentrated around the Barents region and the countries around
the Baltic Sea.
The cooperation has also been strengthended through the establishment of
"the Northern Dimension" of the European Union.
The
Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services administers grants for projects
promoting the objectives of the Cooperation programme on health and related
social issues in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region and the Partnership for Health
and Quality of Life. Funds are allocated twice a year, with deadlines for
applications 15 April and 15 October. Links to the application form and
