I should probably tell you something about myself first. My name is Ewoud van Veen and I`m a media student. This "world-first-and greatest-low-budget-homepage" (which is supposed to start a new "wave" of low-budget, high-quality homepages) is made at the university of Bergen, Norway.

I`m just trying to entertain you, by telling what entertains and inspires me. For instance Art Spiegelman`s Maus (picture), which is an outstanding story, that made a great impression on me. There are some nice pictures and links here, so have a look.

I try to figure out what to write, and I decide to explain the title of this page. First of all, the name is a tribute to my band, the Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band. But, secondly, the band`s name is a tribute to the Star Wars universe, and especially Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo band.

I`d like to find out how to copy any of the nice images at the SW pages, but it is probably illegal anyway. Still, this is a pretty nice start, don`t you think ?

Well, back to what I was talking about. Even though our band is not famous or anything, I`m still quite proud of it. Last year we made a demo which was incredibly popular......among our best friends. The cd is called A genuineirreperablesouthamericanbraindamaged blowpipe (don`t worry, we know about the spelling mistakes).

Now, what kind of music do we play ? All of the band members; Helge, Thomas Poul, Karl Erik and me (Ewoud) are huge Beatles fans. But strangely enough, I don`t think many people that have heard our band would say that we`re mainly inspired by the Beatles. Our style is kind of an Alternative Rock with elements of grunge, jazz, classical music..... almost everything !

I`m still trying to find out how to get some nice pictures - without a scanner. And, ofcourse, I don`t seem to manage to "connect to any bloody server". Let me try again.

.......This is about to annoy me. I think the INTERNET is fairly overrated. I`ve only got 3 minutes left of this lesson.

........Another lesson, same problems. I guess these computers are from the dark ages. I managed to find a nice picture some minutes ago, but the computer was never able to save it at my disc.....

My ideas were quite nice....... Here I meant to have a picture of Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo band from Star Wars, with the brilliant text :

"Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo band; not to be confused with the Sy Snootles and the Max Rebo Band"

(Geeeze ! I made it! Ofcourse I had to find a better computer...)

There was supposed to be a picture of the Beatles here, described by my great words as

"the Beatles. Not to be confused with neither Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo band nor the Sy Snootles & the Max Rebo Band."

(Wow! This one as well!..but it took ages).

Another great experience is Trainspotting , you all probably knew that, but I now gave you the opportunity to look at one of its pages, a review of the movie.
