The ecological projection of downscaled weather simulations represents a stringent test of the validity of the climate simulations. This is an important criterion also for the predictions of the effects of climate changes. Several ecological functions are sensitive to nuances in the weather data, hence apparently minor defects in the simulated weather could have major impact and largely invalidate the ecological simulations. The present papers summarize a model exercise where dynamically downscaled climate scenarios for south east Norway were used to simulate soil heat and water balances, soil C- and N-transformations, plant growth, soil erosion, optimal fertilizer use and income
The prosject is divided into six workgroups (WG). Each of the WGs is responsible for specific tasks in the prosject. On the other hand, several tasks are shared by more WGs.
Climate change (CC) will affect a multitude of interlinked processes and components within agroecosystems, including their economics. A complexity of interactions between economic and ecological components within the systems precludes predictions of CC effects, based on the study of single phenomena.
