The Centre for Bio-Spectroscopy and Data Modelling at Campus Ås was established in February 2005 for the purpose of strengthening the relationship between the two research areas indicated in the title.
Today we see an increasing amount of data both in science and industry. Several types of measurements are made on the same samples, in addition measurements (spectroscopic, consumer data, gene expression ...) are highly multivariate. As a results multiple matrices are a natural part of modern research. There exist today a lot of different methods for handling such data, we have therefore started a seminar series for reviewing methods within this field, which we have chosen to call MultiMatrix as a common term for multiway-, multiblock- and multiclassanalysis, as well as other related methods.
