The research group
Genetics and plant biology is the biggest in the department and responsible for basic plant research, with extensions intro
plant breeding and floriculture.
We are responsible for teching in
genetics and plant physiology at all levels - a wealth of intriguing problems where molecular methods play an ever-increasing part together with basic plant knowledge. What genes make plants sense when winter approches or when it's time to flower? Can we develop plants more resistant to diseases? Do different species have the same genes used in different ways?
