Geology Group

Geology has always been a key subject in both education and research at UMB. The research focuses on understanding the changes in both the physical environment and climate during the recent geological past, as well as the use of geological resources as groundwater, rocks and minerals. Understanding of the geodiversity as a part of the nature system is of major importance for e.g., biology, plant production, planning and management. The geology group has ongoing activity from Africa in the south to the Arctic in the north.
