Hydrology and Limnology Group
Leader: Gunnhild Riise
Environmental transport of pollutants, nutrients, particles and dissolved matter are to a large extent dependent on the hydrological cycle (hydrology), while the lake waters response are dependent on physical, chemical and biological processes in the single lake system (limnology).
The Hydrology and Limnology group is responsible for the study in Applied Limnology, which generally attracts interest from several students. In the Applied Limnology study there is possible to work with several exciting Master theses such as: the effects of climate, agriculture, long-range transport of pollutants, acidification, road salt etc. on water quality and general dynamics in lakes and watercourses.
