Plant and Environmental Sciences
Urban Horticulture and Urban Greening
Group leader: Associate professor Per Anker Pedersen
Section Urban Horticulture and Urban Greening focus on
landscape plants, their characteristics and environmental adaptation and stress physiology as well as establishment and maintenance.
We thereby contribute to
good quality recreational areas and ecological restoration of degraded nature areas.
The group is also studying the importance of
indoor plants for human health and well being, and we are a part of a research project on farm related activities for people with psychiatric diseases. We are further responsible of coordinating the development of interdisciplinary educational programs related to nature and life quality at UMB.
