CIGENE-RWP1: Construction of a dense linkage map integrated with physical maps in Atlantic salmon

Summary
In this project we will develop genomic resources of fundamental importance for the understanding of genome dynamics and performing genome-wide fine mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) influencing traits of major economical importance in salmon. The tools are a dense linkage map, linkage disequilibrium (LD) and haplotype structures, integration of genetic and physical maps and technology and resources to resolve duplicated regions in the salmon genome. The resources will also be instrumental in answering several important life-history-evolution and management issues attached to wild salmon populations.
