Because the MSc in Agroecology is not just about gaining knowledge, the methodology and pedagogical approach need to be adapted to assist in the development of the whole agroecologist.

Master - Agroecology - Course methodology

In the first semester, students are exposed to a different type of learning. This learning is strongly based on experiences from work with real-life cases. Research has shown that we retain 18% of what we hear, 40 % of what we hear and see, 65% of what we hear and demonstrate, and 85% of what we see, hear and apply ourselves. This backs our belief that experiential learning is essential in developing agroecologists who themselves will be able to put theory into action. However, the instruction methods and evaluation in semesters of elective courses depend on the courses chosen from the different thematic areas.
