The department has a broad and varied field of research. All our researchers are organized in different subject groups.

The aim of the subject groups is mainly to contribute to the associates research identity and development. It is also a place for idea development and creation of new research projects. At the department there are six subject groups:

• Biodiversity, systematics and evolution
• Wildlife management and ecology
• Plant-animal interactions
• Resource economics, markets and society
• Forest and wood
• Environmental change biology
