SNP: Experimental Design

Based on feedback from current and potential platform users we have become aware that there is an increasing need to extend our SNP services to also include assistance on experimental design of SNP-based projects.

In 2003 CIGENE engaged the Norwegian Computing Center (NCC) to write the report Experimental design and statistical analysis of SNP data obtained in genetic association studies. Work with this report has given NCC the necessary experience with the biology involved to make full use of their considerable expertise on experimental design issues to assist CIGENE with an experimental design service.

For platform users who already have their experimental design set up, we can offer help with designing SNP assays/primers for the relevant SNPs in each individual experiment.

If you should require professional help from NCC, CIGENE may be in a position to substantially subsidize NCC's fees.
