How to apply?

Exchange students

You begin by contacting the International Office at your university. If your university has an agreement with Sør-Trøndelag University College, send the application through your faculty. Your faculty will then send the application directly to the relevant faculty at HiST.

Students from partner universities, with which we have exchange agreements, will be given first priority when applying for admittance to our study programmes.

Students from universities without an exchange agreement with Sør-Trøndelag University College may apply provided they have the necessary academic background for the programme in question, and meet the English language requirements. However, students should be aware that getting a residence permit as a non-degree student depends on presenting satisfactory documentation of sufficient funding. Please contact the relevant faculty at Sør-Trøndelag University College for more information about how to apply.

There are no scholarships available at Sør-Trøndelag University College. Although public universities and university colleges in Norway do not charge tuition fees, the cost of living in Norway is rather high. The estimated cost of living for the academic year 2007/08 is NOK 81,400 (NOK 40,700 per semester).

Degree seeking students

All our degree programmes are taught in Norwegian. Students must meet admission requirements and financial requirements to be eligible for admission.

Applications to undergraduate studies at public universities and university colleges in Norway are processed by the national admissions agency NUCAS Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (Samordnet opptak). All applications must be sent directly to this agency, and not to Sør-Trøndelag University College.
