The workshop venue is Scandic Nidelven Trondheim

This years’ workshop is the sixth one we host and this time the venue for the workshop is Scandic Nidelven in Trondheim. The workshop will consist of plenary sessions and paper presentations. The theme for the workshop is a broad one, “Management accounting in practice and research” and as such it covers a broad variation of issues.

Two distinguished professors are invited as key note speakers, Professor Irvine Lapsley, Edinburgh University and Professor John Burns, Exeter University. The key notes will include issues such as what practitioners may expect management accounting researchers to do, the role of research design in management accounting studies, research method issues in researching management accounting practices and innovative ways of conducting management accounting research.

The workshop will thus offer an arena to discuss both present and future development within the field. The workshop welcomes researchers and PhD students who are conducting research within the management and accounting area, using various theoretical lenses and methods. Studies from both public and private sector are welcome.

The workshop also provides an opportunity for doctoral students to present and discuss their work at a specific PhD seminar (see details below). All PhD papers will be assigned a senior discussant.

Workshop participants are responsible for their own travel and overnight expenses. There is no registration fee for the workshop participants. Contact e-mail for queries is tbs-conferences@hist.no
