ASU10104 Norwegian for exchange students
Semester: Fall and Spring
Credits: 6 ECTS credits
Target Audience: Incoming exchange students, all programmes
Prerequisites:
No prior knowledge of Norwegian, but English competencies according to admission requirements at Norwegian higher education institutions.
Objectives:
The students will get acquainted with the structure of Norwegian language and acquire necessary vocabulary needed for basic communication situations in Norwegian.
The students will acquire basic knowledge of Norwegian culture and Norwegian society.
Topics:
Basic instruction in Norwegian grammer and use of basic vocabulary. Curriculum with content from Norwegian everyday life, Norwegian culture and basic social studies.
Instruction:
Students are to a large extent required to work independently between classes. In class teaching will focus on the four communicative competences: listening/understanding, talking, reading and writing. Individual and group projects during classes and in the local environment. Exercises to train oral understanding through dialogues and role play. Individual supervision.
Mandatory Assignments:
Minimum 75% attendance in classes required.
2 compulsory, written assignments to be approved.
