Courses in English

AAUC does not offer fulltime study programmes in English, but some courses are taught in English to facilitate student exchanges. Echange students may in principle attend all courses taught in Norwegian, provided that they meet the courses' entrance requirements and have a good command of the Norwegian language (or possibly  Swedish and Danish).  30 ECTS credits correspond to a full semester workload, but exchange students may of course take less credits during their stay if their home university approves.

The following courses (most of them within the Bachelor programmes in Export Marketing and Business Administration, 3rd year) are taught in English:

Fall semester 2007:
- AM 301302 Marketing Research (15 credits)
- AM 301402 International Marketing and Sales (15 credits)
- AS 202506  French for beginners 1 (7.5 credits)
- AS 202106 Spanish for beginners 1 (7.5 credits)
- Introduction course in Norwegian language for exchange students (6 credits)

Spring semester 2008:
- AS 202606 French for beginners II (12.5 credits)
- AS 202206 Spanish for beginners 2 (12.5 credits)
- AS 201306 International Business Communication (10 credits)
- Introduction course in Norwegian language for exchange students (6 credits)

Project work/thesis under supervision (in English) from our faculty staff are offered in all study programmes both semesters. The number of ECTS credits may vary according to agreement with home institution (up till 30 ECTS credits which is normal workload per semester). Exchange students can also combine attending courses and project work. The topic of a project work will depend on the student's academic background and the field of specialisation of possible tutors. Please note that students at AAUC usually do project work in groups of 2-3 students.

Please note that it is possible for exchange students who wish to stay one academic year to attend all courses in the 3rd year of the Export Marketing programme, provided that foreign language courses are chosen in the Spring semester. If the students wish to attend the courses Spanish for beginners 2 and French for beginners 2, they should attend the first part of the courses taught in the fall semester or have a simililar preknowledge of the language. Students in this programme also have a compulsory project work/thesis (12 ECTS credits) in the spring semester.
