Accommodation

Bolig1

A large majority of exchange students stay in the student villages run by the student welfare organisation SiT. When a student is admitted, she or he will get information on how to apply for accommodation. It is very important that you read the information carefully, make sure you insert the correct HiST code in the application and return the signed contract and pay the deposit money in time. If you fail to do this, you may loose the room. The deposit will be refunded when you leave Trondheim. Please note that rent may only be paid for the whole months, consequently a rental payment that represents only parts of a month will not be accepted.

The monthly charge for a room is around NOK 2800 and upwards per month. You will get a room of your own, furnished or unfurnished, and share kitchen and bathroom facilities with three or four other students. All rooms have telephone and broadband internet connection, but you must bring your own computer.

Students are responsible for keeping their room clean and tidy. Unpaid rent, telephone bills, etc., and the extra costs due to an insufficiently cleaned room when moving out will be deducted from your deposit.

Please note that you must provide your own duvet and bed linen. You must either bring with you pillow, duvet, bed linen and towels, or you can purchase the things you need when you arrive.

Each building in the student villages has a contact person whom you can ask for information regarding practical matters such as where to shop, laundry machines, available equipment in the kitchen etc.
