Web-based tutorial in information literacy
The Libraries of Telemark University College and Stord/Haugesund University College have cooperated on the construction of a web-based tutorial in information literacy for students. The tutorial will be freely available on the WWW.
The tutorial consists of two main parts:
- A process-orientated guide to project work/group work based on Carol Kuhlthau's ISP Information Search Process): choose a theme, formulate a research question, define your information needs, find and use information.
- A "toolbox" containing practical guides to study techniques, search strategi, search techniques, the use and evaluation of information, and report writing techniques.
The tutorial was launched in Januar 2005.
