University by 2013

Telemark University College (TUC) wants to achieve full university status by 2013- either alone or in cooperation with other institutions.

To achieve a full university status, at least four Ph.D programmes are required.

One Ph.D application in 'Gas and Energy Systems' has been sent to NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education), the national accreditation body.

Two more applications in 'Culture studies' and 'Ecology' will be sent in the fall of 2008.

The fourth Ph.D programme has 'Preventive Healthcare' as a working title. The final report is expected in April 2009 and an application for accreditation may follow after the final report.
