The Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education provides extensive information on Higher Education in Norway. For students with a Norwegian identity number most applications to undergraduate studies are processed by centralised application processing, see Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS - Samordna opptak) for more information.
Applications from those without a Norwegian identity number should be made directly to the institution.
Applications for Masters level programmes should be made directly to the institution.
Most of our programmes are taught in Norwegian, except those listed below that are taught in English. To apply for programmes taught in Norwegian you must demonstrate proficiency in Norwegian. We offer a one year language programme, Norwegian Language and Civilisation for Foreign Students and on successful completion of this programme you will be eligible to apply for programmes taught in Norwegian. International applicants who wish to enrol on a programme taught in Norwegian should apply through the Norwegain Language and Civilisation for Foreign Students programme.
Applicants from European countries are eligible for admission upon completion of the secondary school leaving certificate that provides the basis for admission to university studies in the home country. Applicants must document all their relevant education with officially certified copies of certificates in the original language and authorised translations if the original documents are not in English or a Scandinavian language. Applicants without European secondary education should check the list of equivalent entrance qualifications from foreign countries to Norwegian Higher Education.
Preferential international admission will be given to qualified students whose home institutions have an agreement with Telemark University College. Admission is competetive, hence the focus is on students inclined toward academic work. Late applications are accepted on a space available basis.
Please contact the relevant faculty international/ECTS coordinators for specific programme enrollment and application requirements.
