This programme consists of the following subjects:

The programme places emphasis on the students’ ability to work critically and independently on their thesis and other aspects of the programme. This is reflected in the way the programme is structured and in the manner students are encouraged to tackle problems and reach solutions. The programme is of special interest for students who have studied the humanities, interpretative social sciences or interdisciplinary cultural studies for their Bachelor or Master’s degree, as well as for employees in the media and public or private cultural organisations. The programme is also relevant as further education for teachers or employees that work with cultural issues. The programme is divided into to streams: Cultural Analysis and Cultural administration. The introduction is common for both streams.

The methodology course prepares students for work on their Master’s thesis. The specialised courses and the thesis should have an interdisciplinary aspect. Students begin writing their Master’s thesis as early as the second semester. This is done concurrently with the specialised courses taught in the second and fourth semesters.
